Zoe’s recovery: Surgery

September 24, 2009

Unfortunately, things have taken a bad turn for Zoe.  I just got word from the specialist:  her left eye will be removed.

It’s for the best, I’m sure.  I’m told she can’t see out of the eye anymore, so this will avoid future infections.  But I feel horrible about this.  I feel as bad about this as I did when she was lost.

Surgery is scheduled for later today.  We hope to have her home tomorrow.

UPDATE

Surgery is complete.  Zoe is in recovery.  Everything went well.

Sorry to hear about Zoe. Just know that she will still have a great and full life: she’s a trooper-hang in there.

  2. She’s in my thoughts and prayers buddy-wish her a speedy recovery.

It’s so awful you and little Zoe have to go through this. Hopefully she’ll be running around in no time and won’t even notice she’s missing something.

I have a Boston with one eye, and she does beautifully. I hope that Zoe does well, and you are both in my prayers.

  5. She’s obviously very strong though and a real fighter. My thoughts are with her that she’ll be able to get stronger and start feeling better. Hugs and love will help her more than you know.
